Celebrating Cedar Stars Rush: A United Front at the 2024 PDT

In an exhilarating announcement from Rush Soccer, the selection of the 2024 President's Day Tournament (PDT) rosters has sparked immense pride across the Cedar Stars Rush family. This year, an impressive group of eleven Cedar Stars Rush players has been chosen to represent the Rush National Team at the prestigious event in Phoenix, Arizona. Their selection underscores the depth of talent, dedication, and teamwork within our club, marking a significant milestone in our collective journey.

The PDT is an esteemed national platform, showcasing the elite of young soccer talent from around the globe. It's a testament to the hard work and passion of our players who have been selected, reflecting not just their individual prowess but also the supportive environment fostered by coaches, teammates, and families within Cedar Stars Rush.

Our eleven stars set to shine at the PDT encompass a balanced representation across the age groups, highlighting the club's commitment to developing well-rounded, skilled individuals both on and off the field. Here's a look at our talented young athletes who will be heading to Phoenix:

  • Shelby Jones and Mathew Swaney, defenders, alongside Julianna Almeida, a midfielder, will be representing the 2007 Boys Rush Select National Team. With Mathew playing a year up, their selection speaks volumes about their skill level and the quality of competition they're ready to face.

  • The 2008 Boys Rush Select National Team will see Garrett Fullem (Defender), Madix Leal and Tripp Roach (Midfielders), and forwards Thomas Gbunblee and Ivan Villegas taking to the field. Ivan, playing a year up, will join his teammates in showcasing the dynamic talents that our club brings to the national stage.

  • Dylan Farfan will represent the 2009 Boys Rush Select National Team as a forward, ready to demonstrate his scoring capabilities and teamwork skills.

  • For the 2010 Girls Rush Select National Team, midfielders Isabella Bender and Gabriella Koval will participate, highlighting the strong presence and skillful play that Cedar Stars Rush contributes to the female side of the sport.

The PDT offers a unique opportunity for these players to immerse themselves in competitive play, enhance their skills, and gain valuable insights into higher-level soccer dynamics. It's a moment of recognition for their hard work and a stepping stone to further achievements in their soccer careers.

This selection is a collective achievement, reflecting the strength and spirit of Cedar Stars Rush. Each player’s journey to this point is a story of dedication, improvement, and the unyielding support of their teammates, coaches, and families. As they prepare for the PDT, it’s a moment for our entire club to come together, celebrating not just the individuals selected but the communal effort that has helped them reach this stage.

As our players gear up for the tournament, let's support them with the same enthusiasm and unity that defines Cedar Stars Rush. Their success is our success, and their journey at the PDT is a shared adventure that we all look forward to with anticipation and pride.
